Questions, answered
Are my images really not uploaded?
Correct. Every tool here is JavaScript running in your browser, so there is no server-side processing at all. You can load a page, disconnect from the internet, and it keeps working. The site does use standard analytics and advertising cookies, which are described in the privacy policy, but your images are never part of that.
How do I convert an image from one format to another?
Find your source format on the left of the conversion grid and the format you need across the top, then click the arrow where they meet. Drop your file, adjust the quality if you want to, and download the result. There are 28 conversions between PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, SVG and ICO.
Which formats are supported?
Input: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, SVG and ICO, which means anything your browser can display. Output: PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, ICO and PDF. HEIC is not supported because browsers cannot decode it.
Will I lose quality when I convert?
It depends on the target. PNG, BMP and ICO are lossless, so nothing more is lost. JPG and WebP are lossy, but at 85% quality the difference is invisible for most photos. In our accuracy test all 28 conversions produced the correct file type and 7 of them were pixel-for-pixel identical to the source.
How do I make an image smaller?
Use the compressors for JPG, PNG and WebP, or the resizer if the picture is larger than it needs to be. Shrinking the dimensions usually saves more than lowering quality; we measured it in resize vs compress.
How do I get an image under 50 KB or 100 KB for a form?
Use one of the size-limit tools: 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB or 500 KB. They test different qualities and keep the highest one that fits under your limit. The size-limit guide has the details.
Which format should I use: PNG, JPG or WebP?
JPG or WebP for photos, WebP for screenshots, and PNG for text, charts and anything with transparency. We tested all three on photos, screenshots, text pages and charts in PNG vs JPG vs WebP, and the format guide covers AVIF as well.
How do I turn images into a PDF?
Open Image to PDF, drop several images and tick Combine to get one multi-page PDF, or use the PNG, JPG or WebP to PDF page for that format. You can pick A4, US Letter or fit-to-image pages. See how to combine images into one PDF and what controls the PDF size.
Can I resize, rotate or flip an image?
Yes. The edit tools resize by pixels or percentage, rotate by 90, 180 or 270 degrees, flip horizontally or vertically, and convert to grayscale. All of them work on a batch of files at once.
How do I make a favicon?
Drop a square logo into the favicon generator and pick the sizes you need, usually 16, 32 and 48 pixels. The favicon guide lists every size and the HTML to add to your site.
Is there a file size or count limit?
No. Batch as many files as you like and download them one by one or as a ZIP. The only limit is your device's memory, so very large images are slower on a phone than on a laptop.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The site is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile browser, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
How is this free?
The site is supported by unobtrusive ads. There is no premium tier, no watermark and no sign-up.
